Clarissa Alcantar was born in Naples, Florida and moved to Brownsville, Texas in 2007. She is an aspiring teacher and artist. Alcantar’s work has several different media includes painting, drawing and photography but photography has been her main focus. Her work captures the beauty of nature and things that many people might not see at first glance.
Alcantar has exhibited in group exhibitions including The Master Copy at the Texas Southmost College Arts Galley in Brownsville (2019). Her Final Virtual Art Show at Texas Southmost College Arts Galley (2020). Under Pressure Student Printmaking Exhibit at La Chicharra Studio (2022). Beyond the Gap Sculpture Group Exhibition at La Tijera (2024). She had some of her works published in The Gallery: A Literary & Arts Magazine at University of Texas Rio Grande Vallery (2023 & 2024).
Alcantar received her Associate degree in art at Texas Southmost College. She is currently an art student at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, getting her Bachelor of Fine Art with a concentration in Studio Art and a minor in All Level/ Secondary Education.
